BIO:

I began studying herbs in 1997. My first teacher was Rosemary Gladstar, a vibrant and beautiful soul whose passion for herbal medicine created a new, spirited awakening of this art in the United States. During my apprenticeship with Rosemary I spent a summer learning closely from her and the plants as well as from a host of other herbalists from across the country; Eliot Cowan, Rosita Arvigo, 7-song and Matthew Wood.

After that summer I continued to study herbs on my own, delving into herb books and spending quality time with plants. I went to Portland State University and studied Biology, Botany, and Photography. I also went to work on my first Organic Farm and fell in love with the tactile experience of producing food and medicine. I have since worked on several small vegetable farms and in the summer of 2004 I apprenticed on the Herb Pharm in Williams, Oregon, one of the largest and most beautiful commercial herb farms in the country.

I went on to study Yoga at The White Lotus Foundation and in the process was introduced to the amazing 5,000 year old science of Ayurveda. I knew immediately I had found a home in this tradition, it called to me with its beauty and explanations of the world. I soon enrolled in the Ayurvedic Academy in Seattle and graduated nine months later from the Ayurvedic Practitioner program.

Wanting to learn more I decided to go to the source and travelled to India in 2005. I studied at the International Academy of Ayurved in Pune directed by Dr.Subhash Ranade and Dr.Avinash Lele.

I have since studied with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque.
In the summer of 2006 I moved to Asheville and graduated from the Clinical Herbalism Program at The Appalachia School of Holistic Herbalism in April 2007.
My husband and I recently bought property near Hot Springs, NC and plan on developing an organic herb and vegetable farm, botanical sanctuary and educational wellness center.
